Hi Dave and thanks for not only giving me great feedback, but also for bringing up the issue of writing for people.
The more I read from people, especially people who are marketing, the more I am realizing that the huge difference in mindsets between bloggers and marketers is causing a big problem.
Marketers are so used to email marketing that when they turn to blogging, they write as though it were an email campaign rather than writing to engage with people, to share and help others. It shows in their content and it shows in their “subject lines”
I have seen blog titles that are so long, they basically are the content and I have seen blog titles that made no sense and had nothing to do with the content they were maybe going to write about.
It has been baffling me why there is this issue until I wrote this blog post and all of a sudden it became very clear to me.
These tools will be useful for both the marketer and the blogger..but just as with any tool..it can only go so far in giving you aid..the reality is that if you are blogging you need to start thinking like a blogger and when email marketing..think like a marketer.
Thanks for letting me lecture and rant for a moment lol
